Genco Gülan highlights the importance of the link between the arts and art education with his upcoming exhibition called “The School”. For one month, it will hosted by Doğan Koleji which celebrates its 30th year. Inspired by its equivalent in french “école” the exhibition aims to take the artlovers to coincidences.
You can visit “The School” from April 12 to May 12, between 10.00 and 16.00, everyday except Sunday. You can reach online to some of the exhibited artworks and even others of Gülan’s oeuvre from Art50.net.
For the artist, at the origin of the notion “school”, there is the artwork of Raffaelo where the famous Italian painter and sculptor paints “Plato’s School”. The master of Renaissance, he didn’t establish a school but he painted his ideal school’s image. The artist, Genco Gülan, after five hundread years with the smilar topic he chosen, attempts to make totally different relational aesthetics.
Gülan, with his artworks he will exhibit in this project aims to make new accidental encounters of the art pieces that artlovers and children can come upon in a gallery or museum and a school’s corridors, refectory or sport’s hall. Through those encounters he expects new ideas to grow.
