The film is about the Polish-American sculptor and painter Stainslaw Szukalski’s life and his journey between Poland, Chicago and Los Angeles. In Poland he was one of the most well-known artists of his time, but his works were destroyed by the Nazis and the documentary addresses the issue of leaving his hometown Poland and his migration to another country, to America. The artist’s sudden loss of artistic reputation, his resistance through this change and his endless productivity in art is revealed in this documentary. Through this documentary it is possible to discover the extraordinary art and personality of Stainslaw Szukalski.
