The Florentine painter and architect Giorgio Vasari’s ‘Lives of the Artists’ was first published in 1550 and later became the foundation text of art historiography. Now available in Turkish, this book offers us a closer look into the lives of famous Italian artists who lived between the 13th and 16th centuries, at the same time it illustrates the birth, development and culmination of the Renaissance art.
