Attach/Detach

The “Attach/Detach” exhibition features works from Art50.net portfolio, focusing on a selection of works based on the different approaches chosen by artists in terms of their distance to the subjects. This distance, which can be explored as a “detachment” and “attachment”, is an element that strengthens the narrative of the artwork. While the desire to understand and express forms a common basis for the artists, the difference in style emphasizes the uniqueness of the artworks.

In their works Ahmet Rüstem Ekici, Filiz Piyale, Nursun Hafızoğlu, Haydar Akdağ and Deniz Yılmazlar deal with nature, individuality and city as their subjects. In terms of the position of the artists, detachment reveals itself as a distant but comprehensive attitude. On the other hand, Coşkun Sami, Ece Gauer, Görkem Dikel, Lütfiye Kösten, and Umut Yalım’s works are based on understanding and representing the individuals and objects from within. Their attachment and closeness to the subjects provide an insightful approach.
