Klimt

In this 2006 production, we are watching John Malkovich in role of Austrian symbolist painter Gustav Klimt. Directed by Raul Ruiz, the movie sets in Vienna and focuses on last years of the painter’s life. In his deathbed, Klimt starts to recall his past and tell his life story to a friend, who was also a former student. Moving around his dreams and memories, the painter goes on a journey through Vienna, center of art and culture of the age, his scandolous relationships, and ‘’Vienna Secession Artist Union’’ formed by himself.
