One of the most important international platforms focusing on contemporary art from Africa and the African diaspora, the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair<\/strong>, once again places Marrakech at the center of the global art map with its 2026 edition. Taking place from 5\u20138 February 2026<\/strong>, 1-54 Marrakech<\/strong> aims to make visible the multi-layered narratives of <\/span>contemporary African art by bringing together strong galleries, artists, and institutions from both within the continent and the international scene.<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n\n

<\/div>\n\n

Positioned as one of the flagship events on the African continent, 1-54 Marrakech will host over 20 galleries from 12 different countries in this edition. The fair offers an experience that goes beyond the classic fair format, particularly through its curatorial approach focused on the Moroccan art scene, its strong connection to the city, and its program that extends into public spaces. The fair, which will take place at one of Marrakech\u2019s iconic venues, La Mamounia Hotel<\/strong>, proposes a multifaceted program enriched with exhibitions, talks, special projects, and cultural events organized throughout the city.<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n\n

2026 edition of Marrakech fair will host 8 Morocco-based galleries. Institutions such as Loft Art Gallery, MCC Gallery, and La Galerie 38 will offer both local and international audiences the opportunity to experience the region\u2019s artistic vitality and cultural richness. Alongside Moroccan galleries, four new international galleries\u2014ELLEPHANT (Montreal), Imvelo Art Studios (Lusaka), The Art Affair (Luanda), and The Lobster Edition (London\/Tunis)\u2014will participate in 1-54 fairs for the first time.<\/p>\n\n

The artists exhibiting at 1-54 Marrakech 2026 come from diverse geographies across the African continent. Participants include names such as Samuel Nnorom (Nigeria)<\/strong>, Khanyi Mawhayi (South Africa)<\/strong>, A\u00efcha Snoussi (Tunisia)<\/strong>, Roland Dorc\u00e9ly (Haiti)<\/strong>, and Girma Berta (Ethiopia)<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n\n

This edition will once again present an extensive program of special projects and events developed in collaboration with local and international institutions. The program is realized with contributions from institutions such as Fondation TGCC and DADA.<\/p>\n\n

The fair\u2019s relationship with the city is further strengthened by cultural events throughout Marrakech. Highlights include Elladj Lincy Deloumeaux\u2019s solo exhibition at MAP, a comprehensive presentation of four exhibitions at MACAAL, special commissions by Prune Nourry and Yassine Balbzioui, the \u201cOrganic Knowledge\u201d exhibition at LE 18, three exhibitions at Mus\u00e9e Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech, and openings and evening events at galleries in the Gueliz district.<\/p>\n\n

Fondation TGCC<\/strong> presents <\/span>Constellations<\/span><\/strong>, a group exhibition bringing together the finalists and winners of the Prix Mustaqbal award, which focuses on supporting young artists. The project explores the dialogue between past, present, and future through the works of artists from different generations.<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n\n

The <\/span>In Between Blues<\/span><\/strong> project by ABLAKASSA<\/strong> at DADA Marrakech offers a multidisciplinary and spatial experience centered on the historical, material, and symbolic meanings of blue. The exhibition unfolds over the fair period through an immersive program that brings together art, music, and design.<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n\n
