With its new program and Akbank<\/strong> as the main partner, Contemporary Istanbul will bring together art enthusiasts at Tersane Istanbul in the historic Golden Horn setting, with Preview Days on September 26\u201327<\/strong> and General Admission from<\/strong> September 28 to October 1<\/strong>. The 18th edition of Contemporary Istanbul will host 67 contemporary art galleries<\/strong>, 4 initiatives<\/strong>, and 4 art institutions<\/strong> from 22 different countries. Sea transportation to Contemporary Istanbul will begin on September 26<\/strong> and continue until October 1<\/strong>, providing access for 30,000 art enthusiasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Special sea transportation services provided by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality\u2019s \u015eehir Hatlar\u0131 will operate between September 26<\/strong> and October 1<\/strong>, offering access to Hask\u00f6y Pier from Kad\u0131k\u00f6y<\/strong>, \u00dcsk\u00fcdar<\/strong>, and Be\u015fikta\u015f<\/strong>. Located just a 500-meter walk from Tersane Istanbul, Hask\u00f6y Pier<\/strong> will allow visitors to reach the fair easily by sea, avoiding traffic congestion. In its 18th edition, Contemporary Istanbul offers the pleasure of traveling across the city by sea, with transportation planned for 30,000 art enthusiasts to attend the fair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Partnering with some of the city\u2019s leading dining venues\u2014Akali, Cup of Joy, Espresso Perfetto, Momo Bebek\u00f6y, Nappo, Petra, Saff<\/strong> and Sail Loft<\/strong>\u2014and concluding each day with DJ performances, the event will go beyond the perception of a traditional art fair, celebrating the city\u2019s dynamism, cultural diversity, and creative energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, the highlight projects of the 18th edition of Contemporary Istanbul are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. CI Photo Focus<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The 1st CI Photo Focus<\/strong>, highlighting the importance of photography as an art form, will bring together artists, galleries, and publications working in contemporary photography under the guidance of Simone Klein<\/strong>, Advisory Board Member of Photo London<\/strong> and former Director of Sotheby\u2019s Photography Department. This new fair platform, showcasing the innovations and creative expressions of photography, will foster dynamic dialogues between artists, galleries, and visitors. Featuring works by 20 international artists, the platform will also include a special selection from the Borusan Contemporary<\/strong> collection. The 1st CI Photo Focus<\/strong> is organized in collaboration with Advisory Board Members Ansen, Co\u015far Kulaks\u0131z, Kumru Eren, Leyla \u00dcnsal, Sarp Kerem Yavuz<\/strong>, and Tony Ventura<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the fair, with Akbank as the main partner, Akbank Sanat will present the exhibition \u201c<\/em>\u015eaka<\/strong>\u201d<\/em> curated by Hasan B\u00fclent Kahraman<\/strong>. In partnership with Borusan Otomotiv<\/strong>, the distributor of BMW<\/strong> in Turkey, the BMW<\/strong> Electric AI<\/strong> Canvas project will be showcased following its debut at Art Basel. The LG OLED ART<\/strong> project will be presented in collaboration with Argentine artist Cecilia Bengolea<\/strong>. CIF Dialogues by \u0130GA ART<\/strong>, renowned for its engaging programs each year, will also take place, alongside works from rapidly emerging contemporary art initiatives from cities across Anatolia, extending beyond the Istanbul circle.<\/p> \n \n<\/div> \n<\/div> \n<\/div> \n<\/div> \n<\/div> \n<\/div> \n<\/article><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its third edition this year, The Yard<\/strong>\u2014comprising outdoor sculptures and installations\u2014will be curated by Marc Olivier Wahler<\/strong>, Director of the Mus\u00e9e d\u2019Art et d\u2019histoire<\/strong> (MAH) in Geneva. This exhibition, where industrial objects are transformed into works of art, will dynamically engage with the environment and the audience. As part of the 18th edition of Contemporary Istanbul, a work by Varol Topa\u00e7<\/strong>, created through upcycling techniques from steel production waste within TOSYALI Holding\u2019s \u2018Sustainable Art\u2019<\/strong> collection, will also be showcased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the 18th edition of Contemporary Istanbul, the CIF Dialogues by \u0130GA ART talk program will be held between September 27\u201329<\/strong>. Partnering with the \u0130GA ART project, which connects art with the world from Istanbul Airport<\/strong>, CIF Dialogues will take place at Tersane Istanbul under three main themes: CI Photo Focus, Art in Public Spaces<\/strong>, and Art in Residence<\/strong>. Over the course of three days, panel discussions will feature Art in Public Spaces<\/strong> and Art in Residency<\/strong> moderated by Marc Olivier Wahler<\/strong>, and CI Photo Focus<\/strong> moderated by Simone Klein<\/strong>, offering audiences engaging and insightful content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Contemporary Istanbul will take place with Akbank as the main partner, BMW<\/strong>\u2014represented by Borusan Otomotiv<\/strong> as Turkey\u2019s distributor\u2014as the co-partner, and Turkish Airlines<\/strong> as the official airline partner, alongside Miles&Smiles,<\/strong> LG OLED evo,<\/strong> Qua<\/strong> Granite<\/strong>, and Trendyol<\/strong> contributing with their art projects. Pernod Ricard<\/strong> Turkey will once again join as a co-partner, welcoming art enthusiasts at the House of Brothers Lounge<\/strong> as in previous years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
