Yayoi Kusama Museum with infinity rooms, dot-covered interiors and giant installations<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Japanese Avant-Grade artist Yayoi Kusama, who draws art-loving crowds with her colours, dots and lines opened her own museum, Yayoi Kusama Museum, in Tokyo.<\/p>\n

Yayoi Kusama, one of the world-renowned Japanese artists, commissioned a mysterious building in Shinjuku region of Tokyo years ago. Built in 2014 by Kime Sekkei, this tall white building was easily distinguishable from surrounding brown buildings, however its aim was not. The building project of the structure sparked a lot of interest amongst locals and art circles.\u00a0 The structure led to many speculations and a wave of wonder. Then suddenly, a new website for the Museum was created, and announced the opening of the building to the public as Yayoi Kusama Museum in October 2017.<\/p>\n

5-storey building with wide windows opened its doors on the 1st of October. It presents and offers the visitors a magical world made of neon colors, dots and lines. The museum\u2019s first floor holds the gift shop and entrance, the second and third floors display a range of Kusama\u2019s artworks, while the fourth floor houses environmental installations that are instagram-lovers\u2019 favorite . The fifth floor has a reading room and archive of Kusama-related documents, as well as a terrace.<\/p>\n

The Museum is directed by Tensei Tatebata, the president of Tama Art University and director of the Saitama Museum of Modern Art. In addition to Kusama\u2019s artworks, the Museum will also host temporary exhibitions which will change twice a year. Yayoi Kusama Museum, a place of mystery and interest since its very beginning is waiting to be discovered and unrevealed.<\/p>\n

The inaugural exhibition at the Yayoi Kusama Museum centres on her newest painting series \u201cMy Eternal Soul\u201d. Other new works by Yayoi Kusama will also be on display. In addition to the sixteen works from \u201cMy Eternal Soul\u201d, the series entitled \u201cLove Forever\u201d will be presented, a collection of black and white drawings that formed the precursor to Kusama\u2019s latest series. Furthermore, an installation piece Kusama has created especially for the museum’s opening will be showcased, along with a new pumpkin.<\/p>\n
